I’ve seen number of Lib Dems in the last few days having a go at Labour over their about turn on transparency on lobbying.
It’s the wrong attitude. It’s one of negativity. I wrote some time ago elsewhere about the need to be more positive in our story’s so that we can positively engage people and tell them what we stand for.
Lib Dems put forward a Bill in 2006 that wasn’t supported by Labour. Because of recent circumstances, Labour have now changed their tune. But instead of welcoming that change and encouraging Labour to support Government proposals, some Lib Dems prefer to attack that change instead. If a week is a long time in politics, 5 years is an eternity. Things change, people change, so do political parties and their policies change over time.
Lib Dems need to grow up, be more positive and not give out knee-jerk reactions.
