Liberal Democrats Annual Dinner took place last Friday at the Craigielaw Golf Club near Aberlady. Was it worth the £30 per head?
The view when you walked in was stunning – however I get a similar one every morning when I get up – but don’t let that put you off. Oh, the club is "open" which means anyone can go in for a drink or food.
The food itself was OK, I had wild boar for starters (just like any other pate I’ve eaten really), followed by salmon (vegetables weren’t that great) and a tart.
The speech was by Jim Hume MSP for South of Scotland – which East Lothian is in – was a bit long-winded and Jim needs to learn to cut things down a bit and increase the jokes.
Now to the only real good bit for me, for the first time I won a Lib Dem raffle (about time after 15 years), so I took the bottle of whisky as my prize. Would have helped if it was a Macallan but a Glenmorangie is fine.
To answer the question, overall yes it was worth the money.
