There was a flurry of comment yesterday about the ending of Downtown Abbey on ITV on Sunday. What?
It was a “costume drama”, something that ITV gets right now and then. However, it has never been screened in Scotland. STV has refused to screen it. They’ve refused to screen other ITV programmes as well as a result of a dispute with ITV. In the meantime, the cultural wasteland that is Scotland has to put up with Taggart or erm, Underbelly instead.
