Tale of 2 conferences: one open and transparent the other secretive

The week-end just past the Federal Lib Dems held their Spring conference in Sheffield. The previous week-end the Scottish Lib Dems held their Spring conference in Perth.

On the Federal Conference web-site you can see all the motions, amendments, emergency motions etc and how they fared (i.e. passed or failed). These were updated as conference proceeded. On the Scottish Party web-site: nothing.

Now its not as though there wasn’t any broadband connection in Perth, there was and it was free to use. Its more no-one arranged for the motions to be put up on the web-site nor arranged for anyone to update either during or after. I’m sure there are several people within the Scottish party with the skills to update before, during and after the conference, they just need asked! Meantime, when do members who weren’t at conference find out what motions were passed? Answer, only from those that did attend.

For a party that believes in openness and transparency why is it being so secretive?
