The Scottish Executive will shortly be putting forward its proposals for the Scottish Parliamentary Budget. Now is the time to put pressure on them to ensure that measures to implement Scotland’s Climate Change Act are fully funded.
The Scottish Executive have produced an action plan (PDF) that sets out how it will meet the targets contained in the Act and the next budget must reflect these ambitions.
Fully funding measures will show a determination to move to a cleaner, greener, more sustainable Scotland and prove that we are taking climate change seriously.

People across the country can benefit from fully funded measures: improved health as a result of walking and cycling initiatives; warmer homes via energy efficiency measures.
As a minimum, everything in the Scottish Executive’s own action plan must be fully funded in the next budget, its that simple.
